Catching Up

So I squared away most of my tasks at work this morning and took the afternoon off to try to catch up on all the stuff I didn't get to over the weekend.

Cat Stuff

Primary goal was gettin some flea-be-gone and treating Ms. Pukesalot and the apartment. Between the flea treatment, food and Feliway, I socked $140.00 into my cat today. Feliway's a plug-in, like Glade, that mimics the feline pheromones that cats give off when they're content. The vet suggested it about a year ago to help calm Ms. Pukesalot and, subsequently, her tummy. I think it may work better on me than it does on her, cuz I'm much calmer and tolerant of the regular regurtitation. But I think it does help her, too, cuz she doesn't seem so paranoid all the time that I will abandon her forever or commit some equally despicable act of poor parenthood.

Amway, the cat got her treatment almost as soon as I walked in the door, and I just sprayed down the front room with the floor/apolstery insecticide, so we're holed up in the library while I take care of some more banking business and online purchases... and blog. :)

Now What?

And since I have a little bit of time to stretch with today, I also hope to sit down and figure out the whole Transfer-from-Digcam-to-Puter process and get my pics ready to post on Wednesday. The only other activity on my list for tonight is watchin Mom's Netflix movie so I can get it back in the mail. She's got a LONG list of movies to see, and they only come 3 at a time, so she's always fussin about not lolly-gaggin gettin around to watchin and returning them.

Job Searches Across the Country

Oh! And there's reason to celebrate in the realm of my friends, today: the acquisition of a new job! I've had 3 friends recently hunting for work... the job market has just been SO wonderful these last few years. IHOP Buddy was one of them... and unfortunately it took her hubby gettin bashed up for a break to come her way, albeit a temporary one. But just today, another friend of mine in DC (she's commented here as Just Another Girl, but I think I'll dub her the Bus Snob... which I'll explain later) just landed herself the job she really wanted... can't beat that with a stick. :) I really am very excited for her... she starts on Monday.

Now I've only one left to keep my fingers crossed for... a friend from Georgia, who I'll call the Fussbudget, cuz... well, she fusses about EVERYthing. Much like my grandmother. I should hook those two up and they could fuss together. But amway, I know Fussbudget has at least a few possibilities she's just waitin to hear back from. I really hope she gets a call soon... she's been searching for work the longest, and finding work will naturally help improve her outlook tremendously. Job hunting for so long can only get more and more frustrating.

Welp... I think that's about it for today. I need to go see if the fog has cleared in the front room so I can get to the kitchen and fix something to eat.

So passes another day into the annals of history... until tomorrow!
