Happy Anniversary!

Mikee

So today's my 11th anniversary. With my wife. Mikee. Who lives in Washington. With her hubby. And three kids. It's a VERY long story (the long and the short of it: started out as a practical joke, then the joke kinda stuck) and one I'll have to explain another day when I have more umph to write. For now, I'll just leave you with the fact that Mikee and I go back to my Navy days. Her hubby's still servin... goin for Chief in the next few years, in fact. We're all pretty tight.

Mikee and I conducted our wedding vows late in the night on payday, officiated by Bubba... another sailor friend of ours. Who actually ended up being BBM's (my Boyfriend By Marriage... Mikee's hubby) best man at their REAL wedding, just 7 months later. Amway, Mikee would argue that the accurate date of our anniversary is Sept. 16th, considering we were all up late, and the "I Do's" were probly exchanged after midnight. But it's easier to just remember payday.

Thanksgiving Visit?

Amway, I'm thinkin of mebbe makin it up to Washington to spend Thanksgiving with them this year. We've spent many a Thanksgiving together, and I'd might as well start my mission to visit as many peeps in the next 12 months sooner rather than later. I was gonna send Mikee an e-card, but seems one has to pay for those these days. So I sent an e-mail. I'm just a cheap bastard. But that's okay... the great thing about Mikee's and my relationship is that 1) we're far enough away from each other that we don't drive each other crazy and 2) we both know we're cheap. lol

Working Out

Elsewise, today was a pretty uneventful day. Stayed pretty busy at work. Oh... well, I started exercising again today, as soon as I got home. Last time I successfully kept up a regular workout regimen was last year when I dieted for the first time in my life. Yeah, my body's finally slowin down... fillin out... gettin a li'l pudgy. I did really good last year... until the trip to Ohio. Then it all went down the tubes. But this year I have a goal again. Essentially, I know I'm gonna run myself absolutely ragged in San Diego next month, and my body is SO not used to that much activity. I lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle. And it's happened before: I push myself that hard when I'm not used to it, and I get sicker'n a dog. So I want to give myself the best opportunity to enjoy my trip... get my body used to some activity, build my stamina... and even tone up a li'l bit of this pudge. :)

Stormy Weather

Let's see... what else. Well, we got some surprise thunderstorms throughout the day. Gotta love thunderstorms... except when driving in them. Gotta love thunderstorms from the comfort of a cozy blanket and hot chocolate in a comfy recliner. Mebbe with a furry li'l lap-warmer. The forecast is supposed to be sunny for the next several days... but I'm not entirely sure we won't feel the effects of Ivan comin ashore in the next few days. Yup... looks like he's gonna hit the Gulf coasts of the Florida panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana... all in one swell poop. Then, forecasts have him travelling up into Alabama. He's been oscillating in strength, and they hope he'll continue to weaken, but at last count, he was still a Category 4 Hurricane. Dood's gonna cause a LOT of damage. Folks have already been evacuating the coasts for days now.

I think that's about all I've got for today. I'm pretty tired after that workout... though, it's a good tired. I've got the Pic of the week to post, then I think it's time to veg. :)

Hasta manana.
