Holdin Down the Fort

All By Myself

So, yeah, I'm holdin down the fort this mornin. As I was most of yesterday afternoon... though MUCH more was goin on yesterday. Our receptionist has been sick for both days... the Office Manager was out for her own doctor's appointments yesterday, and took a friend to the ER this mornin. The retiree had meetings for most of yesterday afternoon, and always has Fridays off (she works 12-hour days Monday through Thursday).

LifeSavers

It’s not the first time I’ve been the only one around, though… I don't really mind it. As I've mentioned before, I've been trained on everybody's jobs, so I can take care of anything that comes up or otherwise needs to be done. Plus, I have the students... thank goodness for them, actually. Our veteran has always been extremely capable, and our two new recruits have proven to be quick studies and are not reticent in the slightest to hop straight into the fray. They've been EXTREMELY helpful today. Yes, I know how to do what needs to be done, but the fewer directions my poor brain needs to move in today, the better. :)

Fortunately, the Office Manager is on her way in... she just called in. Yay! The E.R. docs sent her friend home, who will be seeing her regular doc next week to follow up.
