Synchronization... Now!

Silliness

So last night Mom and I stayed true to tradition and watched our Sci-Fi shows together over the phone... while taping Medical Investigation, which came on at the same time. Then after Stargate Atlantis, we decided to go ahead and watch what we'd taped... and try to do it together so that we could continue our commercial-calls to discuss it. So there we were, attempting to synchronize tapes...

"Okay, so what do you see right now?"
"I'm seeing a pair of feet slipping on some fuzzy slippers."
"I'm seeing the St. Louis Arch... no fuzzy slippers anywhere."
"My VCR started taping at fuzzy slippers."
"Oh. Well, I haven't seen that yet... lemme get there... oh wait, there it is!... oh shit... passed it."
"Well, tell me where you are now, and I'll catch up."
"Well, there's a girl looking at herself in the mirror... and now her mom downstairs... back to the girl..."
"Okay, I fast forwarded and see a girl in the mirror, but which scene are you at?"
"I dunno... they go back and forth from mom to girl, like, 5 times... lemme go back and go through it again."
"No! Just stay put and I'll catch up to you!"
"Well, I'm not sure which scene it is... where are you?"

***note: at this point, we should have just said "right here!"***

"Okay, the mom's at the table and just looked up and asked 'what are you doing?' "
"Oh wait... I just saw that, lemme back up."
"*sigh*"
"Okay! Just got to the mom asking what's going on"
"Okay good... stop it right there cuz I have to go take care of something and will be right back"
"You mean, I was supposed to stop it?! I already passed it again!"

We eventually did synchronize to within a few seconds (proven by listening to the echo of the other one's tv over the phone) and did not touch the remotes again until the end of the show.

Yeah, we're dorques. But we have fun! *grin*
