So I'm gettin kinda annoyed with this place (apartment complex). I suspect it may be partly due to PMS, and partly to the fact that I'm still kinda lookin for "signs" that a move and change is the right choice. So small annoyances about my life right now are somewhat blown out of proportion, whereas normally I'd simply adjust to any inconvenience and take it in stride as a fact of life.
Apartment Venting
So here's my vents:
1) Doods upstairs haven't changed a thing, and I'm beginning to resent that they're forcing me either a) into a confrontation or b) to adjust MY homelife in order to put up with thiers. And even if I can muster myself to confront them about the friggin machine guns, I know there's not a damned thing I can do about the smoke. I wish I didn't feel so snarky about simply reporting the noise disturbance to the apartment manager without trying to talk to them first... again. Consciences can be such a pain in the ass, dammit.
2) My plans for the weekend were shot because of their last-minute notice that I had to uproot my utility/storage room and now have to crowd my way through the stuffed library for who-knows-how-long because they're replacing my furnace and then it has to be inspected at some future unknown date. Now, a new furnace is a good thing... especially considering the blower on the one I have now is so friggin loud that, with the utility room being just on the other side of the wall from my living room, and the only cold-air-return in the place being right next to my recliner, I can't hear the tv when the heater/air conditioning is on. So I really shouldn't be all that annoyed over the issue. But I am, so there it is.
3) My plans for the weekend are additionally shot cuz I can't finish my laundry here at the apartment. See, they just put in a new washing machine in the building's laundry room. Now, there was a small amount of leakage with the old one, so that we had to lay down about 3 or 4 layers of paper towels on the floor across the front of the washer and dryer. This is the first time I've used the new one... seems like it was installed while I was gone. At about my 3rd or 4th load of laundry, the entire washroom started to flood. Grrrr...
4) My dishwasher still reeks from the friggin nylon spoon that melted in there months ago. I understand they probly have more important things to concern themselves with (like giving all of their tenants last-minute-notice that they're replacing furnaces, and installing new washing machines that flood the wash room) but they could at least get back to me to let me know they can't be bothered to find out about a new heating element for the friggin dishwasher.
*deep breath*
Oh, and 1 More Vent
I didn't get to do any kind of back-blogging or working on my trip pics cuz my morning on the 'puter was spent figuring out why the hell my Ad-Aware won't update it's definitions. Turns out the fockers don't even support that version of the software anymore. I not only had to download the brand new version, but I also had to buy their new version of Ad-Watch, which protects my computer in real-time. *sigh*
Keeping an Even Temper... Or at Least Trying ToSo everything's just feeling like an incovenience today, and PMS does absolutely nothing to help the uphill battle of not getting severely annoyed and bitchy over it all. The folks said I could use their washer and dryer to finish my laundry, plus I'll simply whip up a couple batches of the banana bread they requested, over there. Here's hoping I can manage to keep an even temper... I still need a favor from them. I found a perfect new corner-computer desk at Wal-Mart that will save space, but the box is friggin huge so I need to borrow their truck to pick it up... and then to take the old computer desk to their place to store until we have a Garage Sale next Spring.
Amway, I'm off to shower, grab something to eat, and run to Wal-Mart for some stuff I forgot yesterday, before heading out to the folks' place. Mebbe I can catch up next weekend. Or one of the upcoming weeknights if I'm not too tired.
