Unaccomplished

Last Minute Notice

So I got little done today that I'd hoped to. I came home last night to a notice on my door from the landlady informing me that they are replacing my furnace in the next few days and I need to clear out any boxes and stuff from my utility room. And then the City will need to come inspect it (they're not sure when) so I need to keep the room cleared until that's done as well.

Catch-All Library

So this morning was spent clearing out the utility room (and wiping many a cobweb, dead bug and PLENTY of dust off of most of the contents) and transfering said contents to my library. Library seems to be the catch-all for when my apartment's turned topsy-turvy. It happened earlier this year when my upstairs neighbor sprung a leak in the pipes inside his wall... a very slow leak that I didn't notice for weeks... possibly months... until the carpet started getting distinctly wet. By that time, unfortunately, the carpeting (and padding) under my hallway cabinet was black with mold. So I had to empty the cabinet (contents safely ensconsed in the library, of course), turn the cabinet OVER to apply bleach to the mold and let the water-swollen wood dry out, wait for the carpeting in general to dry... and for the moldy carpeting and padding to be replaced.

So much fun. I swear, my upstairs neighbors have been a distinct pain in the ass... lol

Catchin Up

Amway, so spent my morning... part of which done while yappin with Bus Snob on the phone. She had to keep me updated on her ongoing drama involving an amazingly bitchy dood who's trying valiantly to drag everybody around him down into his emotional quagmire. *shakin head* For details, check out her blog... Bus Snob... she has such an eloquent way of putting things. *grin*

The rest of my day consisted of running some errands and heading over to the folks' place for a night of hot-dogs and movies. We caught up on all of Mom's Netflix movies so they can be returned. I really liked The Day After Tomorrow, Matchstick Men was okay, and HellBoy was generally entertaining. It was a long night, and I'm back home vewy, vewy late. After midnight, in fact, though I'll back-post this so Saturday will get it's appropriate representation. :)

So I'm off to sit with my cat, and hope to get to some of my trip backlogs tomorrow while I'm doin a shitload of laundry. :)
