Save the Spiders
So we had some entertainment here at work this morning. A li'l Jumping Spider decided to take up residence in the Office Manager's printer, and she excitedly informed the rest of the office that a HUGE spider was attacking her and somebody needed to kill it.
Of course, there's absolutly no need to kill the poor li'l thing, so I calmly scooped it up and took it WAAAY on the other side of the parking lot so she could be assured it wouldn't come back to attack her again. *shaking head* Which prompted a lengthy discussion between the office staff and project managers about pests and the various preferred methods of removing them. Not surprisingly, I'm pretty much the only bleeding heart in the bunch. But, hey... to each their own. :)
New Students & Changes
Also regarding work: seems the new cute jailbait starts today. And we have another student (female, so still technically jailbait, but not for me... lol) starting on Monday. Our veteran student is gonna graduate in December, so they've got a lot to learn before he leaves. We tried to hire one in over the Summer to train with him, but she didn't really work out.
Amway, things are gonna get a li'l close in this li'l office. See, for the moment, I share an office with the student(s). When I first started in this department, I was out at the reception desk and handled those duties amongst a variety of others. Then we hired a new receptionist, I became more of a PM Assistant, and they had to stuff me somewhere until they could reconfigure some office space. Fortunately, this will be happening soon. They'll be knocking out the wall between our front support area and a rather large copy room, and expanding the front area to accomodate all four of us support staff. Plus, we're getting new furniture AND I'll have my own phone ALL to myself again!. Lots of changes... for the good. In the meantime, however, at least our newest office-mate is equally appreciative of the classical/NPR station we keep the radio tuned to, so we won't have to argue over music. :)
At the moment, I'm helping show the new dood around the place and through some of our programs, until our veteran gets in this afternoon. Which means I'd probly best wrap this up for now. I started writing before I became designated tutor, and I only have a chance to finish this up now cuz my tutee had to run out and pick somebody up on campus.
Staying Limber
But before I go, I just want to make note that I'm feeling pretty good this morning... honestly thought I'd be a lot more sore and/or stiff after yesterday's workout, but then I did a LOT of stretches to limber up my stiff muscles, and I suppose that helped. I'm just a li'l sore, and not stiff at all. That's okay... I know I'll definately feel the sore when I work out again this evening.
Okee dokes... I'll be back to finish up random thoughts later. :)
